COMEDIAN Roy ‘Chubby’ Brown had to see the funny side of it when he was given a parking ticket at a hospital where he was handing over a £5,000 charity donation to help cancer patients.

The blue comic, who lives near Northallerton, had just presented a giant cheque to staff at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, when he returned to his car to find a £50 ticket plastered on the windscreen.

That was despite Brown, whose real name is Royston Vasey, having permission from hospital bosses to park there.

The ticket had been written out in error by the private company which operates the car parks and has now been rescinded.

His parking fine at James Cook Hospital follows a £30 fine imposed by magistrates in North Yorkshire last month after the millionaire comedian was caught on video reading a newspaper behind the wheel of his luxury Lexus car on the A19 near Crathorne on May 15.
