Trio complete fell challenge to repay staff at Friarage Hospital

First published in Hambleton news

A FATHER and his two sons have climbed 17 fells in 17 hours in the Lakes District to thank dedicated hospital staff who cared for his wife as she recovered from breast cancer.

Andrew Bunn, from Brompton, near Northallerton, and sons Will, 25, and Tom, 22, and family friend Jim O’Brien, raised £4,218.90 to help future patients at the Scott suite breast cancer unit at the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton.

Andrew’s wife Debbie, 52, went for a routine mammogram in January this year and was called back to further tests, which confirmed she had breast cancer, but she has now been given a clean bill of health.
