A SCHEME that has been offering emergency food parcels for the past 18 months will give people a chance to find out more about the project next week.
The Hambleton Foodshare initiative is hosting its second Annual General Meeting Civic Centre, Stone Cross in Northallerton on Friday, July 11 at 10.30am
The project gives a three day food parcel to people in immediate financial crisis and is run by volunteers from the Zion United Reformed Church in Northallerton every Monday from 4-6pm.
It was established by Broadacres Housing Association, churches and voluntary groups, and both district and county councils.
Chairman David Kerfoot MBE said: “It is a sad fact of life, and reflection on society, that some people are having to accept food through the Foodshare Scheme in an area considered to be affluent. The scheme provides a practical response to an immediate need.”
