A NORTH Yorkshire community project has secured a £10,000 funding boost which will see an educational wildlife area being built for children.
The money for Carlton Miniott playing field, near Thirsk, has come from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All programme and will be used to develop an overgrown section of the land and create a natural play area designed for children under eight.
The charity’s chairman, Sam Irvine, said: “We are thrilled to have been successful in our application and excited about the ways it can be put to use to help children interact with the local wildlife on their doorstep.”
