Set in 16 acres of magnificent grounds located 10 minutes walk from York city centre, The Mount School has exceptional purpose built facilities for Science, Art and Design, Music, Drama and Sport.

Excellent academic results ensure the school performs very well in all league tables, and the caring Quaker ethos enables both boarding and day pupils to achieve their full potential.

The Mount is a thriving boarding and day community with a five day teaching week, at weekends girls are involved in matches and rehearsals and boarders also enjoy a programme of activities.

Flexible boarding arrangements which allow a choice of the odd night, regular nights each week, weekly or full boarding, mean all family situations can be catered for.

With sixteen acres of pitches, a 25 metre indoor pool and a multi-purpose sports hall, the school enjoys success in a wide range of sporting activities and outdoor pursuits.

The longer school day enables girls choose from almost 50 extra curricular activities, or supervised homework using the school's IT facilities and library, and even having supper before going home.
