Queen Mary’s is a small non-selective independent school for girls aged 3 -16 Years (co-educational Pre Prep age 3 – 8). The school is situated in a rural safe haven between Ripon and Thirsk. Renowned for its family atmosphere, Queen Mary’s has small classes which are an ideal way of ensuring every pupil receives individual attention.
It’s academic reputation is superb, with The Times naming Queen Mary’s as the 4th best small Independent School in the country, November 2008, however Queen Mary’s has much to offer outside the classroom with an excellent reputation for pastoral care. Music is a major strength with most pupils learning at least one instrument and every girl having the opportunity to sing in one of the four choirs.
The school also has a strong commitment to sport with every girl being able to partake in sporting activity daily from timetabled games lessons to kayaking on the adjacent river. Many girls take full advantage of the on site stables, with livery available for their own ponies / horses. Lessons are taken at lunch time as well as after school.
