AN East Yorkshire secondary school is set to undergo a major restructure to secure its future.
Governors have worked closely with East Riding of Yorkshire Council to put measures in place to keep the Market Weighton School viable.
Staff at the school, which is in special measures, have been informed of the restructure, which will see four support staff redundancies. There will be no reduction in the number of teaching staff.
The reshaping of senior leadership at the school has allowed acting head teacher Gavin Chappell to continue in his role and provide consistency in leading the school out of special measures.
Debbie Lord, chairwoman of governors, said: “As the school hopes to come out of special measures in the next few months, the changes we are proposing to staffing and working structure will ensure the long-term viability of the school, enabling it to remain educating the children in our community.”
