A PRISON officer turned writer from East Yorkshire has used his experience of meeting some of the UK’s most dangerous criminals as inspiration for his new book.
MIke Smail, who writes under the pseudonym Michael Kerr, has released his latest work, Deadly Reprisal, online, using the tales he heard from speaking to the likes of Mafia bosses and notorious serial killer Dennis Nilsen during his time at the top-security Full Sutton Prison, near York.
Mr Smail spent more than 20 years in the Prison Service and has written 17 books, including crime thrillers and fantasy adventures for children.
