THE cast of a classic Disney favourite being performed at a North Yorkshire school have been getting into their feline roles with some impressive painted faces.
Taking part in The Aristocats at Queen Mary’s School, at Topcliffe are, from left, Isabel Brown, ten, as Thomas O’Malley, Celia Furness, ten, as Duchess, Jordan Chapman, 11, as Scat Cat and Elissa Baxter, 11, as the Evil Butler.
Anthea Shepherdson, assistant director of music, said: “As ever, I am amazed at the energy the girls give to their work on stage. This is very much based in cartoon style so the scenes are short and the action swift, which makes it an ideal vehicle for children of this age.”
The children of Years 5 and 6 will be performing the story of a mother cat, Duchess, and her kittens on Monday and Wednesday next week.
