PEOPLE in York wanting to work outdoors are being invited to a taster session for a new diploma course.
The British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV) will be offering diplomas in Work-Based Environmental Conservation in York from March, in partnership with Natural England, offering City and Guilds Level 1 and 2 qualifications.
The course will teach skills such as woodland, grassland and wetland management, building and maintaining paths and fences, hedge-laying, and coppicing and felling trees. The taster event will be held at Skipwith Common Nature Reserve, from 10.30am to 2.30pm next Thursday.
