A BREAKTHROUGH in understanding the way cholera attacks the human body has been made by biologists at the University of York.
The work, funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, has provided a better understanding of how the bacteria develops in the intestine.
Research leader Dr Gavin Thomas said it would help in the development of drugs to prohibit the growth of the disease.
