A week-long flower extravaganza is filling Fairfax House, in York, with magnificent arrangements interpreting Georgian design.
Floristry students from Askham Bryan College are creating the displays for the festival, which runs from today until June 26.
The festival complements the Guilding The Lily exhibition, running at the house until the end of July, which is dedicated to celebrating the influence of the flower in Georgian design and decorative art.
Featuring works from the Royal Collection, the British Museum and the Sir John Soane’s Museum, Gilding The Lily showcases exceptional examples of florally-inspired decorative arts by artists such as the celebrated Mary Delany.
