School’s ‘praise’ pupils

PUPILS at a York primary school are celebrating after being described as "exemplary" in its latest inspection report.

An Ofsted team had glowing praise for the youngsters when they assessed Osbaldwick Primary School last month, with their report delighting headteacher Lesley Barringer.

The school was rated either "outstanding" or "good" in every area, with the inspectors lauding the enthusiasm, behaviour and respect of its 190 pupils and the way they enjoyed school life.

Mrs Barringer said: "We agree the pupils are outstanding and exemplary - they are always polite, they love learning, they have fun and welcome visitors, and there is always an extremely positive atmosphere. But a successful school is about teamwork, and everybody connected with the school - pupils, parents and our superb staff - should take pride in the excellent outcome of the inspection."
