In less than 50 years, York has become one of the UK’s top universities for teaching and research and is ranked in the top 100 universities in the world. There are now over 30 academic departments and research centres and around 13,000 students from around the globe.

Since 2000, York has invested in over 20 new buildings on its Heslington campus and phase one of a £750m campus expansion. This award-winning development incorporates state-of-the-art facilities for students, research and business collaborations. It is also home to four academic departments including the York Law School and the Department of Theatre, Film and Television, which offers the best professional film production facilities of any UK university.

To add to our existing sports facilities, summer 2012 sees the arrival of the brand new York Sports Village, a £9m development which will provide one of the region’s most advanced sports complexes.
