THE Tardis, a group of Daleks and Doctor Who will all be time-travelling to York’s Explore centre this month.

A day themed around the popular TV series will allow visitors to the Museum Street library the chance to speak to one of the authors of the sci-fi tales and create, produce and star in their very own film, thanks to local group Khaoz Media.

Daniel Blythe, who wrote the bestselling book Doctor Who: Autonomy, will host the event on Sunday, October 10, which runs from 11.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 2.30pm.

He will also discuss his latest work A Story Through Space And Time.

The free event is part of Children’s Book Week, an annual celebration of reading for primary school children.

Fiona Williams, City of York Council’s head of libraries and culture, said: “This year’s theme is all about books from around the world, so what better way to celebrate this than with one of the greatest fictional travellers of all time?

“This will be a great opportunity for everybody of all ages to drop into York Explore to hear or read their favourite stories.”
