YOUNGSTERS at a York primary are celebrating after it was deemed a “good” school by the education watchdog Ofsted.
Fishergate Primary School was praised for high standards of work especially in maths and science, and for the quality of teaching and learning.
Inspectors found very strong relationships between children who come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds and excellent relationships between adults and children.
Andy Herbert, head teacher, said: “It is a fitting tribute to the hard work that the children and staff always put in with the support of parents and governors. Fishergate is developing into a very good school and it is a privilege to lead such an excellent team of staff and work with such fantastic pupils”.
Youngsters are pictured giving the thumbs-up to the school with Mr Herbert.
