Parkour session at Huntington School's Pineapple Performing Arts class

Josh McGahan, left, of Bishopthorpe, demonstrates his skills alongside Iain Harvey, of Pocklington, during a parkour session at the Pineapple Performing Arts class at Huntington School.

Parkour is an acrobatic sport and is deemed to be a useful part of theatrical training as it promotes self-confidence, balance, fitness and focus.

The physical discipline involves running, climbing, leaps, flips and vaults, and is comparable to some martial arts.

Pineapple opened its doors last Saturday at the school, offering classes for boys and girls from three to 16 in dance, singing and acting.
