Homes plea for abandoned cats

A CAT and her kitten were dumped outside an East Yorkshire vet’s surgery.

Owen Davies of the Vermuyden Vet Surgery, in Goole, found the pair in a crisp box on Saturday morning with a note which said: “Please help me. I need a home.”

Nicknamed Salt and Vinegar, the cat and kitten are now in the care of the RSPCA.

Mr Davies said the six-week-old kitten was fine. The mother, who is about 18 months old, was very skinny but would recover if fed properly. She is one of three cats with kittens at the RSPCA’s Goole base, where there are also 24 unwanted kittens looking for a home.

Anyone with information about who dumped Salt and Vinegar, or who is interested in offering any of the cats a home, can phone the RSPCA on 0300 1234999.
