9:46am Friday 1st June 2012 in East Yorkshire news
Throughout June, July and August the Back o’ the Shop Gallery at Terrington is to present a showcase of incredible artists from the East Coast of Yorkshire.
There are 11 selected artists in the show which was sent out as an open submission to all artists residing or working in the East Coast region of the county.
They are Leanne Broadbent, Judith Ellis, Rob Shaw, Jane Worthington, Michael Atkin, Wendy Tate, Sue Spivey, Lynne Porter, Patrick Doolin, Gemma Watson and Poul Rennolf. Collectively, the artists demonstrate the wide variety of creativity that is thriving in the region as well as providing an intriguing analysis of how place and landscape affect and inspire different artists in different ways.
This exhibition showcases an immense amount of skill, in painting, drawing, ceramics, etching and more contemporary mixed media and digital work, such as the images created by Gemma Watson and Poul Rennolf, which are rooted in graphic and illustrative digital art, and the collage/ textile works of Sue Spivey.
The exhibition runs from tomorrow until August 25, and is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
