Teenager suffered head injuries in crash

A 19-YEAR-OLD man suffered serious head injuries in a crash in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

The accident, between a silver Citroen Picasso and silver Vauxhall Corsa, happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning on the A1035 at Tickton, near Beverley.

The Corsa driver, a 19-year-old local man, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary by ambulance where his condition was described as serious but stable.

The Citroen driver, a 23-year-old Beverley woman, suffered minor injuries to the neck, shoulder and knee and was also taken to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The Vauxhall had been travelling from the direction of the Swinemoor roundabout in Beverley towards Leven when it was involved in the crash.

The incident was reported to police minutes after midnight and the road was closed for almost five hours to allow recovery of the vehicles, Humberside police said.

Witnesses are urged to contact the roads policing unit at Driffield Police Station on the non emergency number 101 quoting log number 1 of 10 May 2012.
