Railway track trespassers cause near-misses

TRESPASSERS on railway tracks in North Yorkshire have caused six near-misses with trains over the past year, with another five such incidents in East Yorkshire, Network Rail has revealed.
The alarming statistics have led to the launch of a new campaign in Yorkshire warning against the dangers posed by going on to or near the tracks.
The campaign’s video, named ‘track tests’, features world 400m hurdles champion Dai Greene and illustrates how even a world class athlete cannot dodge an 80mph train.
