TERM dates for schools, calendars for bin collections and information about recycling Christmas rubbish topped the list of pages viewed on East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s website over Christmas, with 90,000 – 25 per cent more than the same period last year.

Councillor Jonathan Owen said: “The council’s website operated extremely well over the festive period, providing residents with a fast and reliable source of information about a variety of services.

“Website usage throughout the year has been growing with over 2.17 million visits to eastriding.gov.uk in 2014, compared to 1.93 million in 2013.”

Peak times for web traffic last year included the European elections in May, and the announcement of the Boundary Referendum result in September, he added.
