THOUGH it may be cold and dark outside, Burton Agnes Hall will light up its corner of the Wolds this March by filling the ground floor with exotic displays of orchids.

On the weekend of March 7 and 8, hundreds of the stunning perennial plants will adorn the Elizabethan stately home for visitors to enjoy.

Orchid expert Ray Creek will be on hand to answer questions and provide expert advice about growing and caring for your own orchids.

Visitors are invited to choose competitively priced plants from the broadest - and rarest - selection in the area; additionally there will be a range of orchid related goods displayed at stalls around the hall's ground floor.
