KEEN amateur historians are needed at an East Riding country house.
Sewerby Hall has recently reopened to visitors after a major restoration as an Edwardian country house, and is looking for heritage engagement volunteers to help with projects like developing ideas for exhibitions, guided tours, cataloguing and recording display items and developing the “My Sewerby” archive.
Volunteers will have privileged access to the museum collection and objects loaned by famous museums, including the V and A in London.
Janice Smith, Sewerby Hall’s curator, said: “This is a great opportunity for people who could give their time and be part of our volunteer corps.
“It’s a very rewarding means of being part of our community.”
