A MAN has died after being hit by falling masonry on a Bridlington street.

Humberside Police said they were called just before 1pm today to reports that falling masonry had hit a man and a vehicle on Cliff Street, Bridlington.

The 61-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment, but died as a result of his injuries.

A cordon is expected to remain in place on the road over night, while further safety checks are undertaken and to ensure the public are kept safe.

The cordon and road closures have caused disruption in the area and police would like to thank the public for their patience.
