A COUNCIL is appealing for help in tracking down fly tippers who dumped waste on a popular Wolds Way walk.
The waste included builders’ waste, carpets, broken tiles and a broken mirror as well as off-cuts from cardboard tubing for artificial grass, said a spokesman for East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
“It was dumped in Elloughton Dale Road on the footpath called the Beverley 20, part of the Wolds Way which is known for its beauty and is popular with walkers,” he said.
“The waste was reported by walkers who had reported a similar incident two weeks ago.”
The actions were described as “mindless” by a streetscene spokesman.
Mike Featherby, head of streetscene services, said: “This is absolutely mindless and is the action of someone without a care for their environment. The way this waste was dropped looks as if it has been pushed out of the back of a van.”
