A £2.5 MILLION jewel will be the subject for the next meeting of the Pocklington and District Local History Group.
Dr Kate Giles, of the University of York, will tell the story of the finding, purchase by the Yorkshire Museum and the subsequent investigation of the Middleham Jewel.
She will explain the current thinking on the link with Richard III and why the jewel is thought to have belonged to a lady.
The meeting will be in the Old Courthouse on George Street, Pocklington at 7.30 pm on Thursday, September 25.
There is a £2 admission charge and all are welcome.
