YOUNGSTERS in two East Yorkshire towns are being asked to help shape their communities by joining new youth forums.

The forums will give young people in Driffield and Bridlington a say on issues affecting them, providing a platform to shape future services to meet their needs and commission new services.

The forums will be made up of people aged 11 to 24. There is a budget of £40,000, donated by the Dewhirst Charitable Trust, to commission future services in East Yorkshire.

Young people will be encouraged to lead the commissioning and so learn new skills, including researching, planning, communication, decision-making and budgeting.

The first meeting in Bridlington will be held at the Town Hall on Monday, September 15, from 3.30pm to 4.45pm.

At Driffield, the first meeting will be at the Christian Fellowship, on Wansford Road, on Tuesday, 16 September, from 6.15pm to 7.30pm.

All young people are welcome.
