A SURVEY of residents in the East Riding of Yorkshire has found 97 per cent are happy with their home.

The survey also showed 82 per cent were happy with the services provided by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, with 71 per cent believing it offered value for money – 18 per cent higher than the national average.

Councillor Stephen Parnaby, leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “The council regularly measures its performance against national benchmarks, to ensure it is running as efficiently as possible, and it is encouraging to see that we are operating above standard.

“Thanks to prudent financial management, the council has been able to avoid the knee-jerk reactions of other local authorities and is continuing to invest in its services while at the same time reducing costs for the benefit of communities across the East Riding.”

The survey was designed by SMSR Ltd and took place during March and April to give residents the opportunity to share their views about their local area.
