TWO inmates at an East Yorkshire prison will face extended prison sentences after posting crude bombs from their prison cells.

Bret Atkins, 24, from Humberside, and Jamie Snow, 27, from Leeds, are in HMP Full Sutton, and appeared before Leeds Crown Court.

A jury found Atkins - currently serving a life sentence for murder in 2009 - guilty of conspiracy to send an explosive substance with intent, while Snow - in jail for a series of violent robberies - had previously pleaded guilty to sending an explosive substance with intent and two offences of threats to kill.

They sent crude explosive devices and racist letters to solicitors in West Yorkshire and Lancashire which were discovered by prison staff. They will be sentenced on September 4.
