A NEW alcohol strategy is set to be launched for East Yorkshire, which will include children, young people and families.

East Riding Council’s Cabinet will next week be asked to approve an updated alcohol strategy, to be in force until 2018.

In a report to the Cabinet, Dr Tim Allison, East Riding’s director of public health, says alcohol had been recognised as a major priority by key organisations at a national and local level.

While the old strategy focused on adults over 18, the scope of the new plan had been expanded to include youngsters.
