A SMALL display of recently acquired artefacts has gone on show at the Treasure House in Beverley.
Dr David Marchant, museums registrar with East Riding of Yorkshire Council said the collection with interest all fans of military history.
He said: “Inevitably with it being the centenary year, we have had a number of donations relating to the First World War. They include a lead battleship model that once formed part of the Hengate war memorial in Beverley and a memorial plaque for boys from Castle Howard Reform School who were killed fighting at the front.”
He also said that, in addition, there will be historic pieces for those interested in sport.
He added: “However, there are also some other fascinating items, including a splendid late 19th century silver cricket trophy donated by the East Riding Amateur Cricket League.”
