A NEW guide promoting the Yorkshire Wolds as a short-break destination has been launched.
More than 55,000 copies of the 60-page guide by Visit Hull and East Yorkshire (VHEY) have been printed, containing information about events, leisure attractions and accommodation.
They will be distributed across the UK and at holiday shows both home and abroad.
The brochure includes details of how the Wolds inspired David Hockney’s work, walking and cycling routes, market towns, stately homes and nature tourism.
Tourism boosts the East Yorkshire economy by £459 million a year and employs more than 10,000 people, and Coun Jane Evison, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s portfolio holder for economy and investment, said: “The Yorkshire Wolds really are a hidden gem we are very keen to share with the world.”
