IN RESPONSE to Hard Truths, the government report on the failings at Mid Staffordshire NHS Trust, East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has publicly pledged to work with providers of health care to ensure that local services are safe, high quality and focused on putting patients first.

One of the most significant events of 2013 was the publication of the second Francis Report into the public inquiry of Stafford Hospital, which The inquiry was set up to examined whether broader lessons could be learned from what went wrong at the Trust for the NHS in general, as well as for regulatory and supervisory bodies.

Hilary Gledhill, NHS East Riding of Yorkshire CCG’s director of quality & governance and lead nurse, said: “In making our public pledge, We want patients to feel highly confident in the local health services we commission, and that all partners are engaged in the shared goal of delivering safe, high quality and safe patient care across the East Riding.”
