A POCKLINGTON drama group has received a major cash windfall.
The Heritage Lottery Fund has awarded Wolds Wonders musical drama group for people with learning disabilities £9,900 under its All Our Stories scheme.
The project, launched to support the BBC’s Great British Story, gives groups the chance to carry out activities to help people explore and celebrate their local heritage, and the group is set to start the Pocklington Stories project to look at the region’s history, and to be showcased in Pocklington Arts Centre and around the town.
Project leader Frances Kelly said: “We are all really excited about telling other people of our findings and sharing our heritage and history with them.” To help with the project, through research or supporting performances or exhibitions, email Kate Burgess on burgess.kate@gmail.com
