YOU can’t beat a sunny Easter weekend. So it was a shame that Good Friday was given over to rain and drizzle. Thankfully, the weather picked up beautifully by Sunday and Monday.
York was buzzing over the holiday, according to Suzy Johnson, manager of Visit York, as thousands of people poured into a city where many hotels were fully booked.
The Easter fun extended further afield, from the Easter Fair at Castle Howard to falconers in the grounds of Rievaulx Abbey, near Helmsley, while back in York sword-fighting proved a hit at the Yorkshire Museum.
All in all, this Easter cracked up to be a good one.
