While we're talking about community: a new church-led project aims to provide a helping hand to vulnerable and isolated older people in York.
York Neighbours involves volunteers keeping in regular telephone contact with older people, helping them out with day-to-day jobs - and even arranging trips and visits for them.
Already, almost 50 older people have been referred to the service.
What a wonderful idea: a great example of communities working together to help themselves.
