WHAT did we do before the internet? Hard to believe, but 25 years ago it didn't exist. Then along came Sir Tim Berners-Lee and everything changed.
Within a generation, a new virtual world had been created, but some still find it a mystery. Fortunately help is at hand, especially with how to find a job – important now that most vacancies are posted online.
It's vital that jobseekers get to grips with search engines, so we are pleased to see workshops covering this are being offered at York's libraries.
This is a great idea, but it doesn't stop there, because internet literacy courses are also available.
Making full use of the web has never been more important. These courses show the way to do it .
