IF YOU think all those procedural crime shows are a bit far-fetched — that making a case from a single hair found at the scene is beyond belief, then think again, because the identity of a man found in Scarborough Harbour 25 years ago has been solved by North Yorkshire Police’s major crime unit.
The team used a DNA profile that wasn’t available when the body was discovered to identify the man as David Robin Michael Dawes.
It just goes to show how far we’ve come, but the real story is that more families will now be able to gain closure in missing person cases.
