IT'S fitting that York's Guildhall, has been earmarked to become a digital media arts centre. The building has been at the centre of civic life for centuries and if that is to continue, it must be relevant to modern needs.
These days York finds itself spearheading something of a creative niche, take the extraordinary work being conducted at the Universities and Science Park.
Now as a UNESCO City of Media Arts, York can benefit from other innovative cities in the network.
Refitting the Guildhall in this manner will show that we are taking our membership seriously.
