ALL theft is reprehensible, but when it affects people who risked their lives for the freedom of others, it leaves an especially nasty taste in the mouth.

And unbelievably, in this Remembrance Week, a set of aircrew medals, including the highly prized DFM have been stolen from the Yorkshire Air Museum, where they were on display as part of a public exhibition.

Police say the medals are worth £2,000, but surely that’s not the point, because they are priceless to the recipient’s family.
