SELFIES appear to have become the de riguer way to record our lives. We do it when we travel and politicians aren’t immune from the craze. It’s all harmless, if rather narcissistic fun.
But sometimes things go too far. During the Tour de France, fans posed dangerously close to cyclists. A tourist who took a selfie at Auschwitz this summer sparked internet outrage.
So too did a selfie of North Yorkshire firefighters, police and paramedics at a crash site this week.
It was probably done innocently enough, but this incident goes to show just how careful we all need to be in this never-ending quest to be seen on social media.
