WITH the Ebola crisis dominating headlines, it’s all too easy to forget Africa’s other great pandemic, HIV and AIDS.
Not York City kit manager Dave James, though. He has donated some of the club’s previous season strips so that 100 football loving AIDS orphans in Zambia might have something to brighten their lives.
Mr James has given the old shirts and shorts to the Butterfly Tree charity and now they are winging their way to Mukuni village, near Victoria Falls.
We think this is a great way to recycle and at the same time show compassion to those less fortunate.
Perhaps a few Premier League teams could learn that lesson from humble York City.
