A wonderful event
ON a lighter note, what a wonderful event the York 10k is.
Thousands of people took to the streets of York for the annual event yesterday: young and old, businessmen and those in fancy dress, even people with sight problems or other disabilities.
Between them they raised many thousands of pounds for charity - while putting a smile on the face of everyone who saw them. If war represents the worst of human nature, events like the York 10k represent the best.
Long may it continue.
