Many of First York’s bus services are disrupted and re-routed due to the closures and passengers should expect delays, even once roads reopen. Extra buses are also operating to help cope with the crowds.

Cross-city services will be split and most will be diverted, starting/finishing at one of three ‘bus hubs’ in Fishergate, Hungate and at the station.

At Fishergate, Service 4 to/from the University of York and Service 7 to/from the Designer Outlet will drop off outside the Edinburgh Arms in Fishergate and pick up in Fawcett Street.

At Hungate, buses will run via Dundas Street, Palmer Lane and Hungate, using a temporary bus stop on The Stonebow. Routes using this hub are 1 to/from Wigginton; 2 to/from Rawcliffe Bar; 5/5A to/from Strensall; 6 to/from University AND Clifton Moor; 9 to/from Monks Cross; 13 to/from Haxby.

At the station, buses arriving in the city centre will drop off in front of the station; buses from the city centre will pick up opposite the station. Routes affected are: 1 to/from Chapelfields; 3 to/from Askham Bar; 4 to/from Acomb; 12 to/from Foxwood.

The Park&Ride sites at Askham Bar, Grimston Bar and Rawcliffe Bar will open from 4am with extra buses running, but the No. 59 Park&Ride from Poppleton will not run at all on Sunday.
