A VIDEO clip on The Press website today shows just how bad the behaviour of some York cyclists is.
They jump red lights; ride on narrow pavements; ignore one-way signs.
One astonishing sequence even shows a cyclist taking his jacket off. It gets caught in the wheel – causing him to tumble head-first in the road with his bike on top of him.
Perhaps the most amazing thing about this footage is that it was shot by a cyclist: one so fed-up with the behaviour of some fellow riders he decided to publicly expose them.
Of course, it is only a few cyclists who behave like this. But this film clip shows that if they want to cycle in safety, there are some who need to look first at their own habits, not just blame other road users.
