WHAT is the true meaning of Christmas? Turkey dinner, lavish presents, seeing the relatives?
Ask Jayde Langan and you will get a very different answer, because eight-year old Jayde spent last week collecting food parcels at school for those in need, so they “can have a happy Christmas”.
We should all be proud of her and surely The Archbishop of York will be. On the same page today Dr Sentamu issues the rallying cry: “Come on York, together we can achieve so much more.” He goes on to say life’s persistent and urgent question should be: what are we doing for others, so that together our future can be different?
Caring like young Jayde Langan would be a good start.
We wish readers a very Happy Christmas, but, during the festivities, please spare a thought for those less fortunate.
