A £10,000 reward which was offered for information to help police in the hunt for missing York chef Claudia Lawrence has been withdrawn for a second time.
Crimestoppers offered the reward from shortly after Claudia, then 35, of Heworth, disappeared in March 2009, but withdrew it last summer, only to reinstate it later following a request by police.
But it has now emerged it was not renewed at the start of this year. Crimestoppers said it had to carefully consider other just and deserving cases across the country and give other cases a chance of using an enhanced reward to try to get information.
A spokesman for Claudia’s father, Peter Lawrence, said he understood the reasons for the decision.
