FRIENDS of missing York chef, Claudia Lawrence, plan to hold a national awareness day to mark her 36th birthday next year.
February 27 2010 will be Claudia's 36th birthday and her family and friends plan to have a major, national Claudia Lawrence Awareness day in London the day before on February 26 and in York on February 27.
Commenting on the planned events, Martin Dales, Claudia's father, Peter Lawrence's friend & spokesman said: “The idea for the day has come from her friends and members of the general public who through Facebook, e-mails and FindClaudia.co.uk have expressed their desire to want to do something to help keep Claudia's profile raised across as wide an area as possible.
“Although, we are still in the early stages of planning and already have some ideas, we would very much like to hear from people with their own ideas so that as many people as possible can be involved and be a part of this special day.
“In order to make this happen, we are also seeking partners and wish to engage support both from individuals and from the national, regional and local business and corporate communities as we hope they will wish to be associated with her father, Peter's, untiring efforts to campaign and not rest until Claudia is found.”
Earlier this month The Press reported that passengers were urged to join the search for Claudia, as Mr Lawrence handed out leaflets at Leeds railway station.
Mr Lawrence, also unveiled a giant, big-screen version of the Where Are You? poster which has been used to appeal for help to find his daughter for almost nine months.
Claudia, 35, was last seen on March 18 and police are treating her disappearance as suspected murder.
Last Wednesday, Mr Lawrence joined more than 100 people who attended The Press's carol service in St Denys's Church, Walmgate, held to offer comfort to those who will be separated from their loved ones during the festive season.
