YORK Minster's development campaign has got a new boost after the city's Gild of Freemen donated more than £1,000.
Susan Dudley-Smith handed over a cheque for £1,288 after nominating the Minster's campaign has one of her two charities during her year as master of the gild between June 2005 and July 2006.
Her other charity, the Riding for the Disabled Association, also got the same amount.
York Minster was linked with Riding For The Disabled when it hosted it's the Pageant Of The Donkey service in March this year - which was attended by The Princess Royal. Its development campaign is aiming to raise £30million to fund the restoration of its East Front - whose centrepiece is the famous Great East Window - and to help its music and education life.
The medieval glass and stonework of the East Front are badly in need of restoration and repair.
